Fees, Referrals and Rebates
Standard consultations are provided at a rate of $240 per 50-minute session. Rates are less than the schedule of fees recommended by the Australian Psychological Society.
Remote access to the Safe and Sound Protocol acoustic therapy is available following an initial consult ($240.00), followed by program rental at the rate of $240.00 per month.
Fees are paid through an automatic payment system using the credit/debit details you provide on the patient intake form, and charged after each session.
There is a cancellation policy to ensure that sufficient notice is provided to clinicians. If you need to cancel your appointment, please be aware of the following schedule of fees:
• 0–48 hours notice: 75% of fee charged
Please note that rebates cannot be claimed for cancelled or unattended appointments. If you need to cancel an appointment, please call 0401 585 484 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Patients may choose to self-refer, in the case that they wish to attend sessions privately.
Melanie accepts referrals from general practitioners, psychiatrists, pediatricians, or other health care providers. A referral letter is required.
Patients intending to claim a Medicare rebate of $136.35 for up to 10 consultations per calendar year will need to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. A long (double) GP consultation is required in order for your GP to process this paperwork. This must be brought to the initial consultation with Melanie in order to claim the rebate. Medicare rebates can be processed directly following your appointment into your nominated bank account.
Private health insurance rebates may also be possible, depending on your health cover provider and level of cover. Please speak to your health cover provider to discuss this option.
