Fees

 

Standard consultations are provided at a rate of $250 per 50-minute session. Rates are less than the schedule of fees recommended by the Australian Psychological Society.

 

Fees are paid through an automatic payment system using the credit/debit details you provide on the patient intake form, and charged after each session.

Cancellations

 

To provide the best service to all of my patients, I require at least two working days' notice of a cancellation. This allows me to offer the appointment to someone who is waiting. When you book an appointment, I commit to the allocation of time with you. This is forfeited in the event of a late cancellation.

Please note cancellation fees and outstanding invoices will need to be settled prior to your next appointment. Rebates cannot be claimed for cancelled or unattended appointments.

Less than 48 business hours' notice incurs a fee of 75% of the consultation fee.​

Referrals

​

Patients may choose to self-refer, in the case that they wish to attend sessions privately.

 

I accept referrals from general practitioners, psychiatrists, pediatricians, or other health care providers. A referral letter is required to access rebates. 

 

Patients intending to claim a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for up to 10 consultations per calendar year will need to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. A long (double) GP consultation is required in order for your GP to process this paperwork. This must be brought to the initial consultation with Melanie in order to claim the rebate. Medicare rebates can be processed directly following your appointment into your nominated bank account.

 

Private health insurance rebates may also be possible, depending on your health cover provider and level of cover. Please speak to your health cover provider to discuss this option.
